ABOUT THE ARTIST

HELLO!

A woman with wavy, blonde and brown hair sitting outdoors on a patch of dry grass and green plants, holding a framed floral watercolor painting.

I'm Alex, and like many other artists, I've enjoyed painting and making art my whole life. I studied fine art in undergrad, art therapy in grad school, and I currently work as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Certified Art Therapist in the Philadelphia suburbs. I live in this area as well with my husband, two daughters, and two cats.

In college I discovered my love for watercolors and that has been my medium of choice since then. Painting for myself slowed down through grad school, but once I found time again I made sure to engage in art making. For me, part of the joy of creating art is creating for other people. For the last few years I have been offering custom art for wedding invitations and through that and in planning my own wedding, I have found a love in creating art for weddings. In 2024 I did my first live painting event (guest portraits at an alumni event) and absolutely fell in love!

As an art therapist, I know that in most cases, it is the process of art making, not the product, that is most important. As an artist, I think both have their place! My goal is to create art that you love and that I also love creating. I hope that my art can bring a bit of beauty and joy to you or your recipient. Art is SO needed- how boring would life be without it?!

For events, I hope to bring that same joy as I paint live! Doing events is so much fun and really elevates the celebration, and I am so grateful for everyone who has invited me to paint at their events.

Another very important thing to me is inclusivity. I am an LGBTQIA+ inclusive wedding vendor- all marriers & weddings are welcome and valid :)
